I'm a traditional kind of guy. I'm so happy that Gary Chapman and his brother Keith are too! This is their 4th or 5th Christmas-time visit. Always fun! Check out our Audio Archives for a listen. Keith brought his digital camera in too. See the shots he took at the right of Gary in the top pic and Shelley (part of our Sunday morning family). Gary took the shot of Keith at left bottom. -Dec 15
This time of year, it's time to dust off the old holiday records, enjoy family and friends and it seems to be especially appropriate to have Buddy Greene drop by. He plugged his upcoming Lighthouse Coffeehouse appearance for Christmas. The concert will partially benefit Nashville Rescue Mission. pic l-r: Randy Shaw (NRM), me, Buddy Greene, and Pat Flynn . Of course, with Buddy AND Pat, we had live music too! -Nov 24
The more I hear Kyle Matthews, the more I like him AND his music. A most creative singer/ songwriter, I especially appreciate his desire to encourage his listeners to worship God. Visit him at www.kylematthews.com   -Nov 17
What an unbelievable voice! Ashley Cleveland was my guest on October 27th. She has her own distinctive style of writing and performing. Yet, as fresh as her sound is, she has a major love and affection for traditional hymns. I hope she'll do the hymns album she's promised to do! Visit: www.ashleycleveland.com

A DOUBLE-special Sunday! First, Ginny Owens came by with not only her latest CD. "Something More", but an upcoming EP produced by Margaret Becker, "BluEPrint". She also came by to talk about an upcoming concert. Top pic: Ginny Owens, me, and Hannah Cofer from Bedside Stories. Next, we were invaded by the BBC! The most-watched religious broadcast in the world is a show originating in England called, "Songs of Praise". It's been on for over 40 years with a weekly audience of over 40 million world-wide. They were in town for a taping at the Ryman Auditorium. pic l-r: Paul Leddington Wright (the show's conductor), me, and Pam Rhodes (program host or "presenter"). Wonderful people! I wish we had the program on here in the US. Note: Not pictured is my new friend, Janis Knox (researcher for the show). -Oct 20

In 1979, a year before this show began, a controversial project was released by Maranatha Records. It was "The Misfit" with Erick Nelson and Michele Pillar. Now 23 years later, the album has been re-mastered and re-released. The music is as timeless as ever and I was happy to be a part of making noise about its re-release. Top pic l-r: Harry Offutt (Spare Room Productions and the guy responsible for bringing this classic back for us), Michele Pillar (Carlton), and me. Below: I know people thought we were kidding when we talked about Michele primping for the pictures! Visit http://www.the-misfit.com for more. -Oct 6

The last time Phil Keaggy was on the show, he suggested that NEXT time he bring his Jam-man and play live. What an amazing sound (actually SOUNDS) he gets!.. as if he's not an amazing player to begin with! Check out the Audio Archive to hear some of the fun! -Sept 29

I'm not the first to call Ceili Rain "Nashville's best band", but I sure believe it! I always look forward to their visits. Bob Halligan Jr and gang never fail to make new fans whenever they play... and play they did on Sept 22nd! They were on hand to premiere the new CD, "No Me- No You". pic l-r: Rocky Marvel, Paul Grimsland, Bob Halligan, Skip Clevenger, and me. Front row is Daniel Grimsland and Susie Monick.

What a bitter-sweet morning. It was five years ago this week that we lost our friend, Rich Mullins. The Friday night before, we held a tribute concert featuring friends, music and video clips from Rich. When Rich was in college in his mid-30, he lived in the attic of the college chaplain, Jim Smith. Oh what stories Jim has to tell! He also authored and wonderful devotional/biography "An Arrow Pointing To Heaven". Another long-time friend of Rich's was Kathy Sprinkle. She came down from Cincinnati with stories of her own. Pictures: Jim and Meghan Smith, me, Kathy Sprinkle -Sept 15

Scott Riggan, formerly a member of the group "The Nobodys", dropped by with his new project. So new in fact, we beat the release by two weeks! "All I Know" is a great project. Find it at www.scottriggan.com  -Sept 8

It was a privilege to world premiere the new project from Mitch McVicker, "Without Looking Down". It's a great CD with a lot of passion and Mitch's heart. I appreciate this guy!  -Sept 1

The Nashville half of Point of Grace, Denise Jones and Shelley Breen dropped by on Aug 18 to announce "Girls of Grace", a conference for girls grades 7 thru 12. We also premiered the new "GoG" CD. In baby news, Terry had just had her baby a week earlier, Heather is expecting their first in Sept and Shelley (seated in pic) has about 2 and a half weeks to go!

It had been 20 years to the day since we lost Keith Green, 2 of his children, the Last Days Ministries pilot and a visiting family of 8. All these years later, Keith's music speaks as clearly as it ever did. The former pastor of Last Day's Community, now a local pastor here in Nashville, Jerry Bryant dropped in on this special day with music and memories of Keith. -July 28

Visits from Phil Keaggy are great experiences for me and our listeners! He ALWAYS brings with him songs that have never been recorded, or versions of songs that maybe one of his kids sang backup on, or brand new songs that will appear on an upcoming project. What a delight!  -July 21

Margaret Becker along with Joanne Hogg and Maire Brennan have released a CD of new Irish hymns... "In Christ Alone: New Hymns of Prayer & Worship". It is wonderful! So is Margaret! The other ladies live in Ireland, so Margaret came in solo. -July 14

TWO OR MORE is made up of the Aguas brothers, Renatto, Walter, and Eddie. With a brand new CD release in hand, two of three of two or more dropped by to share the new tracks as well as promote two (not more) concert appearances in town that week.
l-r: Renatto, me, and Walter. Eddie was home recovering from a luau!  -July 7

Two of my favorite people here! Bernadette Keaggy and husband Phil. Bernadette, book, "Losing You Too Soon" was released in March. It explores their marriage, particularly in the early days, losing five children and how God heal hearts. Excellent reading. Pick up a copy! -May 5

What a funny lady!!! Chonda Pierce had already sold out her concert at the end of this week, but I'm sure glad she paid us a long overdue visit. Besides being very funny, this woman has lots to say!  -Apr 28

Here are some shots from our GMA show (which we also went on ahead and celebrated our 22nd anniversary as well!). Left top, Jeff Allen and Buddy Greene. Left bottom: new artist Krystal along with me and Patty Cabrera. At right is Jim Cole. Ceili Rain also played as did Billy Smiley. Lots of folks dropped by to make our party a success!  -Apr 21

How refreshing it is to know someone with such a strong heart for, and emphasis on worship. It seems to be somewhat of a fad in today's Christian music... I'd like to think it's a movement of believers who recognize the absolute awesomeness of God and their total dependency on Him. Jeff Deyo is such a person, not only recognizing this, but encouraging us to follow! l-r: me, Jeff, and guitarist Rob Hawkins.  -Apr 14

Well, it's been a "month of Sundays" since our last guest, but what a way to get back to "guest mode"! Michael Card debuted his first LP on our show in 1982 and I was thrilled to have him bring us a brand new project, "Scribbling In The Sand". With us was renown Cardiologist (no pun intended) Dr. John Bright Cage who's support I have always appreciated. -Apr 7

Diamond Rio's Marty Roe was fighting a cold on March 10th when he came in and brought us a new friend... author and teacher, Joe Beam. Diamond Rio and the organization Joe represents, Family Dynamics, plan a rally/concert in Nashville soon.

Always a pleasure, Rebecca St. James began a promo tour supporting the release of her new project, "Worship God". I continue to be amazed with what Rebecca is doing with her very special gifts. She has a tremendous heart for people.  -Feb 24

Behind every great artist is a great producer! I believe that. As Ginny Owens, Shaun Groves, Chris Rice, Out of the Grey and many others... Monroe Jones is among the best! It was our pleasure to meet Monroe and hear his stories. -Feb 17

One of the best parts about what I do is meeting new people... particularly when they are as talented and grounded as Shaun Groves. In a short period of time, this guy has had number a number 1 song as well as 5 Dove Award nominations! -Feb 3

As always... an absolute pleasure to have Phil Keaggy as a guest as it was on January 27. I so greatly appreciate this man's friendship as well as his excellence as a man of God. Phil brought with him some never-before-played-on-radio music, we played some old familiar favorites, and he even played a couple of live tunes!

It's been a while since Kim Hill has been on the show. She was leading worship in a series of Women's gatherings in downtown Nashville along with author/speaker Lisa Harper. It was good to see Kim again and to meet Lisa. -Jan 20

Arthur Blessitt

What an honor to have Arthur Blessitt on the show. This man has walked literally around the world carrying a 12 foot cross. He was in the middle of walking thru Tennessee when he was with us. Two Or More were on hand for some live music as well. What a morning!  -Jan 13
