What a blast to spend the
morning with good friends! This is one of our Christmas traditions... a
visit from Gary Chapman and his brother Keith. Check out the
Audio Archives to hear the show and catch
up on the guys.

Too many guys in the studio on
THIS particular Sunday! Rocketown Records had released "Gloria"
for the Holiday season. Besides our in-studio visitors, we had phone calls
from Christine Dente and Ginny Owens. With us and pictured l-r: Don
Donahue (president of Rocketown Records), me (trying life with a beard
for a while!), Scott Dente (producer) and super-singer George
Rowe.

It started with an Army
officer on his way to work hearing Mark Schultz's song, "Letters
From War". Mark has now shot a video (parts shot on a base in Georgia) and
has partnered with the Army to encourage safety with the troops overseas.
There is even talk of Mark dropping in on a Tennessee Titans football
game... literally! There are plans for him to parachute in and sing
"Letters...". What a guy!!!

Margaret Becker has
accomplished so much since moving to Nashville years ago. Besides the
obvious gifted artist and songwriter, she is also an author, producer and
now we add AIDS activist. Please visit
www.theorangefund.com and check
out Margaret teaming with World Vision to help learn more about their
efforts to increase awareness of the alarming HIV/AIDS pandemic that is
gripping many of the world’s countries.

From the first time I heard
Ceili Rain a few years ago, I was hooked! I love their energy and the
way they light up an audience. Bob Halligan was in town and dropped
by to share the new Ceili Rain CD with us altho it would not be out for
months.

June 20th was Father's Days. I
thought it would be a good idea to have a "dad" on the show. I
invited Michael W. Smith's dad, Paul. As an added bonus, Michael's
mom, Barbara joined us too. Michael W. is a good dad. He had a
great role model. |

All groups and artists I have
as guests on the show have a story to tell. This guy's is no exception.
His name is Billy Buchanan. Billy is lead singer and songwriter for
the group Fusebox. Billy came from a broken home but had a mother
and grandmother who never stopped praying for him when he left home. Check
out Billy's bio at

Simply put, Jeff Allen is a
very funny man! He was appearing at Zanies in Nashville that night and I'm
grateful he was able to be with us. Visit Jeff's web site at:

It had been about 18 years
since Brent Lamb had been on the show. As you can imagine, a great deal
had happened during that time, including Brent's time as lead singer in
the country group, Shenandoah. Brent was performing a concert in town that
week and it was an excellent time to get caught up.

The group Selah visited
us on May 23rd. Actually, Selah, minus one! Although Allan Hall and Todd
Smith were with us, Nicol Sponberg (Todd's sister) was at home in Chicago.
The new project, "Hiding Place", is incredible.

I forgot just how much I enjoy
Sheila Walsh as a guest! Listeners do too! Sheila was in to talk
about an upcoming "Women
of Faith" event in addition to a brand new book, "The
Heartache No One Sees".

Our friend Michele Pillar
is staying busy and adding acting to her resume! She is involved in a
production of Magdalene, an original musical theater
production written by local veteran actor, Allison Metcalf Allen.
Also in the cast are: incredible songwriter Alex Harvey (Delta
Dawn, Reuben James, Rings) and Amanda Omartian
(daughter of Michael and Stormie Omartian). l-r: Alex, Michele, me,
Amanda, and Allison.

You just can't get your fill
of Phil! Whether he brings in his guitar or not, it is always a delight to
have Phil Keaggy with us. Never have I known such a prolific
songwriter. It is not uncommon for Phil to walk in with a new song he had
written the night before and let us be the first to witness the new
creation. On this occasion, Phil was with us to talk about an upcoming
concert.

It is always a pleasure to
have Dick and Mel Tunney on the program. I enjoyed getting caught
up with them. They have a very rich history in Christian music and what
can you say... they are a husband and wife who love to work and travel
together! These are good people!!! -Feb

On the heels of his visit two
weeks earlier, Greg Long returns as the newest member of Avalon. I love
the heart and enthusiasm of this group. These are very real people who
love God and want to share His message. l-r: Greg and Jana Long, me,
Melissa Greene, and Jody McBrayer. -Feb

Mel Gibson's film, "The
Passion of the Christ" was just days from release on Feb 15th. Artist
Lisa Bevill and GMA President John Styll had seen the film
earlier. Compassion International rep Mark Hollingsworth had been
keeping up with the film all during production and was very knowledgeable
about it. In addition, Christy Knockles (Watermark) called in and we all
talked about the film's impact. A very moving time! l-r:
Hollingsworth, Bevill, me, Styll. |

I forgot how much I enjoy
being around Greg Long. What a busy guy these days with the release
of his own solo project plus preparing to launch a new tour and CD with
Avalon (Greg is their newest member). In addition, Greg and wife Janna (an
Avalon member from the beginning) are about to become parents for the
first time this Spring. Pick up Greg's "Born Again" project! Excellent
stuff! -Feb 8

I asked for the Newsboys, I
get Frankenstein! Not a bad deal if you ask me. Jeff Frankenstein
has been a Newsboy for almost 10 years now. Detroit born and raised Jeff
doesn't even have a hint of Australian or New Zealand accent as his band
mates do. Jeff was the only member of the group in town on this Super Bowl
Sunday. We got caught up with the band and talked about the worship
project and major upcoming tour with Rebecca St. James.

Over the years, we met lots of
wonderful new people on the program. George Rowe is such a person.
His story is incredible. God's hand on his life is evident. George brought
in his debut project on Rocketown Records, "Think About That".
Besides being a very talented singer and songwriter, watch out... he also
has a law degree!

I checked our schedule from
last year and noticed that Steve Camp was the first guest of the year.
This is a very good tradition and I decided to repeat it again this year.
Steve's visits are never mundane! He speaks with authority to today's
church. Check out his web site at
www.audienceone.org
