What a wild morning! It was the Ric Blair Band with some LIVE music from their brand new CD, "Celtic Christmas". The problem was that some of the members had been up all night as it was Ric's wife, Yun's birthday and there was a party for her the night before. Add to the incredible mix a visit from Phil Keaggy! A wonderful morning of live music! l-r: Ric Blair, Melony, me, Kim Haller, Phil Keaggy, and Yun Blair. Front row is Jeff Durham.  -Dec 9
My "long-time" friend (that's much better than saying "old friend"), Michele Pillar is at it again. Her organization, Closer To Home is committed to helping the needy here in middle-Tennessee. Their main find raiser is a concert at this time of year. Michele brought in the organization's secretary, Mary Rector who told many stories which had happy endings because of Closer To Home -Nov 25
Curt Collins arrived on the CCM scene about a year ago this time. When he came in for a visit on Nov 18th he had just reached a top 5 position in airplay charts... not bad at all for an independent artist! He also just learned that he would be opening for Diamond Rio on their Christmas tour.
I heard a poem, "Roses are red, Violets are blue, I'm schizophrenic and so am I". My friend Bonnie Keen may just qualify! She's been a guest on the show for so many reasons and sometimes as two different people! Seriously, Bonnie is a most gifted singer, songwriter, speaker, author, and most excellent friend. She's a founding member of the groups First Call and The Glory Bugles. She had just released her most recent project, "Evidence of Love". Her producer, James Hollihan in with her.  -Nov 11
How often do you get to meet someone you admire? I watched Victoria Jackson on Saturday Night Live for years and loved her in one of my favorite movies, Weird Al's "UHF". This woman is a treasure! As it turns out, we are both from the same area of Miami, FL. Her father-in-law was even my pediatrician! How's that for a small world?!?! I remain a big fan of her work and now that I know her, I'm particularly proud of the public stand she takes for Jesus.  -Oct 21
Jim Caviezel became a household name three years ago when he portrayed Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ". You can imagine how excited I was to have him on the show. He was in town to perform a portion of "The Word of Promise" which he reprises his role as Jesus. A 20-CD set, I highly recommend the "The Word of Promise". Jim and over 120 other actors don't just read the Bible, they perform it and bring it to life. Take the time to visit our Audio Archives and listen to this interview. l-r: Carl Amari (producer of "The Word of Promise", me, and Jim Caviezel-Oct 14
WHAT A MORNING!!! Point of Grace had a concert that night so ALL the ladies were in town. I am so proud of them! I am such a fan, not only of their music but particularly their hearts. Later that morning, we heard from Michele Pillar who brought us a new friend, Jennifer O'Neill. That morning could not have handled even one more lovely lady!!! Back in May, The Katinas had a benefit concert here in Nashville. The guys were busy that morning, but Chrissy Katina (wife of James) came in to talk about the benefit. They were going home to the island of Samoa. I made Chrissy promise that she would come back and report on this very special trip. Today was the day! The trip was incredibly successful! The brothers performed several of probably the biggest concert events that island has ever seen. Their pastor brother Dave preached and many came to Jesus! By the way, you may remember Chrissy from ZOEgirl.   -Aug 26
Phil Keaggy is ALWAYS a welcome guest! It seems that every show he brings in either his guitar and/or recordings of projects he's working on. Our listeners get a special look (or listen) into what's going on in his studio these days. This Sunday he shared a bunch, including a project he's working on with Randy Stonehill.  -July 29
Some time back, Rick Cua asked me to give a listen to an artist he's managing. Anadara was a very pleasant surprise! She was in concert that night. She's a very talented singer/songwriter. I'm sure we'll be hearing more from Anadara. pic: Rick Cua, me, Anadara  -June 24
I didn't realize it had been so long but Mitch McVicker had time to get married and have a baby since his last visit. With his new CD releasing soon, Mitch brought his wife and child with him. 19-month-old Brooklyn was clearly in charge of the studio! left photo: Mitch, me with Brooklyn, and Paula. Right photo: Brooklyn is SO cute!  -June 17
It's always good to make new friends. Meet Anthem Avenue! These folks are using their talents to truly help others. Altho they feel their primary goal is to encourage the church, they have teamed up with Gospel Communications International to help respond to the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Visit them at www.anthemavenue.com to learn more. l-r: Ryan Greenawalt, Katie Seaton, me, and Carly Fair. -May 20
I can't believe what this guy on the right went thru just two months before this May 6th interview. We hadn't had Kenny Marks on the show in 12 years. He had quit recording and quite frankly, I lost touch with him. Kenny had quintuple-by pass surgery on March 6th. It's the goodness of God that he survived the whole ordeal. It's an amazing story! I won't let this friend slip away again! On the left is mega-producer and good friend, Bubba Smith.

GMA Sunday fell on April 22nd this year. I love this week because we get to see old friends and meet new ones. For example: the top left picture is our old friend Jenny Lockwald who was practically a "regular" on the program when she lived in Nashville. Now she works for World Vision. She introduced us to Scott and Jason (who performed live for us!). Left center is Geoff Moore. Left bottom: GMA president John Styll and Dove Award TV producer Steve Gilreath came in to tell us about the week and the "Doves". Top right is Bryan Duncan. He told us about his Radio Rehab web site. We also played some new music from Bryan and his band NEHOSOUL. Finally, we were joined by Michelle Tumes (right center). She has a new, self-titled project which is great!
I sure enjoy visits from this guy!... Phil Keaggy is always working on new music with someone or by himself. He brought in some cuts he was working on with Randy Stonehill as well as a "cover" project of great songs from the 50's thru the 70's (Everly Bros, Beatles, Beach Boys, Billy Joel, etc). Phil can do it all!!!  -Mar 25
We first met Curt Collins back during the Christmas season. His debut, self-titled CD shows incredible promise. Jamie Slocum produced. I predict Curt will be around for quite a while!  -Mar 18
It's hard for me to believe that it's been 13 years since we first heard of Cheri Keaggy. She is a delight and her new CD, "Because He First Loved Us" continues the solid tradition of great Cheri Keaggy music. Check it out at www.cherikeaggy.com/ ... she's sounding better than ever!  -Mar 11
In the late 1970's you couldn't listen to pop radio too long without hearing a song from England Dan and John Ford Coley. Their songs dominated the charts in those days. Those hits are fun to hear today! After spending 28 years in a false religion, John Ford Coley returned to his Christian roots. His story is very interesting and he has even written several songs about his faith in Jesus. It was an absolute pleasure to meet this new friend.  -Mar 4
I recently emailed my old friend Rick Cua to see if he could come in just to visit. Little did I know he had just finished another project. This guy is still at it! With a heart to love God and encourage people, it's good to be around Rick. Visit him at www.rickcua.com-Feb 25
Tammy Trent has an amazing story. Her tragic loss would cause you to lose your faith or be strengthened by it.. she chose the later. She is an amazing woman. Visit her web site at www.tammytrent.com . My friend Amy Stroup dropped by the show this Sunday as well. She has a new project and will be opening for Geoff Moore in concert later this week. www.amystroup.com  -Feb 18
I love this guy! Buddy Greene is always welcome to the show. This is the Sunday before Valentine's Day and he came to talk about an annual Valentine's Day concert in Franklin. He brought guitar and harmonica too!  -Feb 11
