The group AVALON is so much
fun! I love having them on the show anytime their very busy schedules
will allow. This was our first visit with the gang since the new guy
joined. Besides meeting Jeremi, we listened to the brand new CD,
"Another Time, Another Place: Timeless Christian Classics". Enjoy this
interview from March 9,2008. Left pic: Jeremi Richardson and Melissa
Green. Right pic: Melissa watches Jana and Greg Long. |

March 2, 2008 was a big day-
interview-wise. Michael English had just released his latest
project, "The Prodigal Comes Home". He was incredibly candid as
he shared his story. Also, Larry Norman died last week (2/24). I
assembled a few of Larry's friends to reminisce. We played Larry's music
and heard great stories from studio guests Jim Cole, Steve
Camp, and Phil Keaggy (on the phone). |

As a bona fide baby boomer, I love the
music of the 60's & 70's. My telephone guest on December 23, 2007 was a
guy who was from his ivory tower in Los Angeles pretty much shaping the
music I was listening to as a teenager all the way in Miami, FL. Ken
Mansfield was a record exec with Capitol Records in 1965. From there
he worked with top acts in rock, pop, country, and Christian music. He
has an amazing history in the music industry which is chronicled in his
new book, "The White Book". On an entirely different level, a truly
eternal level, he met Jesus years later while living in Nashville.
Here's a 19 minute interview with Ken.

If you are not already a fan
of actor Jim Caviezel, this interview just might change that.
This man is very passionate about his work... also, and especially about
God's word. Enjoy this interview from October 14, 2007. |

Rick Cua was our guest on Feb 25,
2007. He had a concert that night. I was hoping just for a visit and to
talk over old times. I was thrilled to find out that Rick was just about
to release a brand new project and allowed us to premiere the new CD.

I do like to keep Christmas traditions! Especially ones like this. Gary
Chapman and his brother Keith dropped by on December 11, 2005 for
their annual visit. In addition, Andrew Peterson came in to invite
listeners to his musical at the Ryman that night and Steve Taylor was
there to talk about an upcoming film. |

A true music
pioneer... not just Christian music, but in the Jesus Movement and mainstream
pop/rock music as well... Chuck Girard paid us a visit on July 3, 2005.
We could have easily filled several more hours with talk of his past in secular
music (his group, The Hondells had a top 10 hit in 1964 with "Little
Honda"), being a hippie in Hawaii, eventually getting saved and being a
member of the early Jesus Movement group, Love Song. We promised to have
a follow-up interview soon to have him finish his story! |

Steve Camp was the first
guest of 2005 (as he has been the first guest in recent years past). His
comments have sparked controversy and debate. You may agree or disagree but you
have to appreciate his lack of fear to speak up.
(Apologies for having to turn the
tape over during an important point in segment 4.)

When listeners
tell me about the programs they enjoy and remember best, the annual visits
from Gary Chapman and his brother Keith rank among the
highest. Enjoy this tradition as we catch up with Gary and find out about
his latest projects. December 19, 2004 |

time was short, you get a history lesson (ancestor Daniel Boone), a civics
lesson (the US Constitution) and a lot more! |

It hit me during the show that
Gary Chapman was making this visit on Mother's Day (5/11/03)... his
first since his mom went home the day after Christmas 2002. He brought
with him the recording from her funeral. I am so glad we did this. Listen
to this shorter-than-usual and more sober-than-usual time with Gary and I
think you'll agree... Mary Chapman's life goes on! |

On May 4, 2003, we had a very special visit from Ken Mansfield and his
wife Connie. Ken is the former head of the Beatles' Apple Records in the
US. Listen as we discuss his life, the Beatles, his involvement in the New
Age movement, and his coming to Jesus. |

Each year in
September, since 1997, we devote a show to the memory of Rich Mullins.
As much as his music still impacts us, his life continues to challenge
us... not to be like him, but to really know that God uses imperfect
things to draw us to Jesus. After an incredible concert the previous
Friday night at the Lighthouse Coffeehouse, Jim Smith (author of
Rich's devotional /biography "An Arrow Pointing To Heaven"), his wife
Meghan, and Rich's long-time friend, Kathy Sprinkle joined us
to share their memories of Rich.

Phil Keaggy dropped by the show on July 21, 2002. It's always a
pleasure to have Phil on the program. On this day, as is his usual
practice, Phil brought in new music to hear... some never recorded and
released... some to be released soon. Enjoy this time with a true master
musician, and good man! |

Jan 13, 2002 was a great day!.. largely because of a visit from a man I
admire. I had heard of Arthur Blessitt as a teenager in Miami, FL
when he would come to town to preach. Hear his amazing story. Rounding out
the morning in a very fine way was Two Or More and Pat Flynn.
Enjoy! |

One of the things I like best about my job is the pleasure I get in world
premiering great Christian music to my audience. Such was the case on Nov
4, 2001 when Gary Chapman brought us "Circles and Seasons".
It's Gary at his best! For a big plus, Mark Schultz stopped by to
plug his concert that night.

A
Christmas-time tradition. Gary Chapman and his brother, Keith
joined us on Dec 17, 2000. We learn lots during their visits: the dangers of
coffee creamers, most frequent questions asked airline pilots, plus much
more. My buddy David Crabtree dropped by as well.
(My
apologies, the tape ran out on side one and I missed an entire segment.) |

| Several months of The Brian Mason
Show in 2006 were pre-recorded due to
illness. I was diagnosed in 1999 with Meniere's disease. It is a cruel
disease that often results in total vertigo with little or no warning.
Thanks to the kindheartedness of Mix 92.9, I was able to provide the shows
as I could work on them during the week. I appreciate the understanding and
patience of friends, listeners, and the tremendous support of my family at
Nashville's greatest radio station, Mix 92.9! |
