1         One of the most significant projects I have heard in recent years comes from what may be considered an unlikely source... Ricky Skaggs. Our friend, Gordon Kennedy wrote or co-wrote the music of "MOSAIC". Incredible music, incredible stories... a MUST Listen. In November 2010, I was able to sit down with Ricky and Gordon to talk about this Grammy-nominated project.
1 2       March 28, 2010 we got a visit from A Ragamuffin Band... Rick Elias, Jimmy Abegg, Mark Robertson, and Ben Pearson. They were to perform a local gig later that week and were considering touring again. Listen for a wonderful LIVE version of "Man of No Reputation".
1 2 3     It had been a few years since our last visit from Gary Chapman. We got caught up and so much more on March 21, 2010. Gratefully, Gary brought his guitar and played a new song he had written.

1         March 8, 2009 was a most exciting experience for me. Dion DiMucci spent almost 30 minutes with us on the phone. This guy: an inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a pioneer in rock music, and because of $36 decided NOT to get on a chartered airplane which crashed and took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper in 1959. Dion began a deep spiritual search which eventually led him to the Lord. In this brief conversation, we talk about everything from him turning 70 to growing up in the Bronx listening to Hank Williams to his latest recording. We even talked about his face on the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's cover.

1 2 3     Gordon Kennedy has been a good friend for so many years... way back in the day he was the guitar player for Whiteheart. He's an amazing singer, songwriter, producer AND he has a tremendous connection to the history of Nashville music: Country and CCM. He grew up close to a guy I had always wanted to meet... Jerry Reed. I'd hear stories from Gordon during the last years of Jerry's life that he had become a believer... a no-nonsense strong believer. I love to hear Gordon's stories. When Jerry died on Sept 1, 2008, I asked Gordon to come in and share some of the things about Jerry Reed no one else would ever tell you. Even tho Jerry had nothing to do with CCM and never appeared on my show, I think you will find Gordon's stories extremely interesting. Jerry was a fascinating man and I look forward to seeing him again someday.

Rich Mullins

1 2 3     Each year we pay tribute to Rich Mullins on the Sunday on or before the anniversary of his passing (September 1997). We play his music and recall some of the clips of visits Rich made to the show. Here are the three hours we devoted to Rich on September 21, 2008.

1 2 3     Here is our tribute to Rich Mullins broadcasted September 20, 2009.

Andrew Peterson

1 2 3 4 5 I do like to keep Christmas traditions! Especially ones like this. Gary Chapman and his brother Keith dropped by on December 11, 2005 for their annual visit. In addition, Andrew Peterson came in to invite listeners to his musical at the Ryman that night and Steve Taylor was there to talk about an upcoming film.

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 A true music pioneer... not just Christian music, but in the Jesus Movement and mainstream pop/rock music as well... Chuck Girard paid us a visit on July 3, 2005. We could have easily filled several more hours with talk of his past in secular music (his group, The Hondells had a top 10 hit in 1964 with "Little Honda"), being a hippie in Hawaii, eventually getting saved and being a member of the early Jesus Movement group, Love Song. We promised to have a follow-up interview soon to have him finish his story!

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 Steve Camp was the first guest of 2005 (as he has been the first guest in recent years past). His comments have sparked controversy and debate. You may agree or disagree but you have to appreciate his lack of fear to speak up. (Apologies for having to turn the tape over during an important point in segment 4.) Jan 2, 2005

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 When listeners tell me about the programs they enjoy and remember best, the annual visits from Gary Chapman and his brother Keith rank among the highest. Enjoy this tradition as we catch up with Gary and find out about his latest projects. December 19, 2004

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3     Pat Boone joined us for a short visit on Nov 2, 2003. Even tho the time was short, you get a history lesson (ancestor Daniel Boone), a civics lesson (the US Constitution) and a lot more!
Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 It hit me during the show that Gary Chapman was making this visit on Mother's Day (5/11/03)... his first since his mom went home the day after Christmas 2002. He brought with him the recording from her funeral. I am so glad we did this. Listen to this shorter-than-usual and more sober-than-usual time with Gary and I think you'll agree... Mary Chapman's life goes on!

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 On May 4, 2003, we had a very special visit from Ken Mansfield and his wife Connie. Ken is the former head of the Beatles' Apple Records in the US. Listen as we discuss his life, the Beatles, his involvement in the New Age movement, and his coming to Jesus.

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 A Christmas tradition I look forward to each year! Gary Chapman and his brother Keith drop by for an annual visit. It's a blast, and here's the proof. You be the judge... who sings the best- Gary or Keith?!?!? (cut 3)  -Dec 15, 2002
Cut 6 Cut 7 Cut 8 Cut 9 Cut 10

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 Phil Keaggy dropped by the show on July 21, 2002. It's always a pleasure to have Phil on the program. On this day, as is his usual practice, Phil brought in new music to hear... some never recorded and released... some to be released soon. Enjoy this time with a true master musician, and good man!

Cut 1 Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 9 Jan 13, 2002 was a great day!.. largely because of a visit from a man I admire. I had heard of Arthur Blessitt as a teenager in Miami, FL when he would come to town to preach. Hear his amazing story. Rounding out the morning in a very fine way was Two Or More and Pat Flynn. Enjoy!

Cut 2 Cut 3 Cut 4 Cut 5 One of the things I like best about my job is the pleasure I get in world premiering great Christian music to my audience. Such was the case on Nov 4, 2001 when Gary Chapman brought us "Circles and Seasons". It's Gary at his best! For a big plus, Mark Schultz stopped by to plug his concert that night. (So sorry that the tape ended before the end of the interview!)

A Christmas-time tradition. Gary Chapman and his brother, Keith joined us on Dec 17, 2000. We learn lots during their visits: the dangers of coffee creamers, most frequent questions asked airline pilots, plus much more. My buddy David Crabtree dropped by as well. (My apologies, the tape ran out on side one and I missed an entire segment.)

October 17, 1999 was Gary Chapman's first visit in a very long time and a lot had taken place. Here's the complete interview... a very candid conversation.

Father's Day, 1996 brought Gary Chapman, his brother Keith, and especially his father, Terry. This is a very special story not many people know. Note: Terry Chapman passed away Easter morning, April 12, 2009.

More to come....
