   The 80s The 90s Mix 92.9 Year 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007

My producer friend Chris Harris called me a while back and told me about Bill Miller. I am so glad he did. Bill's first visit (of many I hope) was the last day of 2000. Bill is a native American. He has toured with Pearl Jam, Tori Amos and many others. Altho he has recorded for several years, we played his first Christian music record, "Hear Our Prayer". Pic: Chris Harris, me, Bill Miller. www.billmiller.net
Christmas eve fell on Sunday this year. I was glad to have live music all morning with the likes of Lisa Bevill, Eli, and Mark Chessir. In addition, my son Chris asked if his group from school could come and sing Christmas songs. What a great idea! The Overton High School Madrigal Singers under the direction of Dr. Phillip Griffin were wonderful. A great celebration of this special time of year. Top picture: Mark Chessir, Eli, me, and Lisa Bevill. 2nd pic: Eli sings! (looks comfortable, doesn't he!?!). Singers: Brett Perkins, Lindsey White, Kristin Taylor and Chris Faust in front with Daniel Poston in back. Bottom pic: (past the back of my head) Chris Faust, Nancy Craig, Rachel Cunningham, and my son, Chris Mason. -Dec 24
Some traditions are very worthwhile... this is one! Gary Chapman and his brother Keith Chapman joined us last year about this time. It's great to catch up and LAUGH real loud and hard! David Crabtree also dropped by from WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC. -Dec 17
I love Michelle Pillar's heart! She sees a need and looks for a way to do something about it. She has put together a benefit concert for the needy in Williamson County. The already-sold-out concert features Steve Winwood, Michael MacDonald, Larry Carlton, and Vince Gill. Here we are with Michelle's husband, Larry Carlton- an incredible guitar player. Next time you see "Hill Street Blues" on TV... that's Larry playing the theme! Comedian Jeff Allen also dropped by. -Dec 10
December should be Buddy Greene month! He has several appearances here in Nashville. One of which, I am happy to say, was on our show. Buddy brought in Pat Flynn for some great conversation and incredible music.  -Dec 3
Reed Arvin has had an amazing career so far! He was a studio musician when he moved to Nashville in the mid 80's, he produced all but one of Rich Mullins' projects. Now he adds "author" to his credits. His second novel "The Will" has just released and very well could be made into a movie! www.reedarvin.com  -Nov 19
111200 Deyo and Band.jpg (74952 bytes) WorshipCityPraise is a monthly event here in Nashville. Hosted by Jeff Deyo (formerly from Sonicflood). Jeff and Band joined us on Nov 12 after driving all night from a concert in Ohio. l-r: Stephen Zaccone, Rob Hawkins, Jeff. me, and Michele Zacconewww.worshipcitypraise.com
It is so good to be with old friends and I have been so proud of these two! Gordon Kennedy and Billy Sprague are a part of a Rocketown Records writer's series with Phil Madeira and Wayne Kirkpatrick. Songs you know and love from these incredible writers. Visit the site. www.rocketownwriters.com/ -Nov 5
. Imagine the endless jokes when your band's name is "The Nobodys"! Ben Bauman and Scott Riggan joined us on Oct 29 to play their latest, self-titled project. Find them on the web at www.thenobodys.com. l-r: Ben, me and Scott.
October 15 was a Sam's Place Sunday. Gary Chapman dropped by. We were soon joined by some of the folks involved in the annual Crisis Pregnancy Support Center's "Run for Life". l-r: Daniel Butler, Chapman, Ashley Stiles, Steve Gilreath, me and Kama Tate
I have a great deal of respect and appreciation for Michael Card. He is a very gifted teacher and author... besides all the great music stuff! Here we are premiering his 19th album, "Soul Anchor" on October 8.
The "Mission and Music" Tour is a call to us all to remember the importance Jesus placed on helping others. Featured in the tour are Thom Shumate and Eli. l-r: producer Mark Chessir, Shumate, me, Eli, and Kat Davis from Forefront Records. -Oct 1
What can I say, I love ZOEgirl!!! The debut, self-titled project was released in mid-August. They told me that this was their first live interview where all three were present. l-r: Chrissy Conway, Alisa Girard, me, and Kristin Swinford. -Sept 24
Aaron Benward dropped by on Sept 10. He had a busy day! He started out with us at 7am, went to church, watched the Titans beat Kansas City, and then onto the Sam's Place stage at the Ryman with Gary Chapman.
I always look forward to visits from Phil Keaggy. We had a great time playing some of the "Keaggy Classics", some stuff Phil's still working on, as well as a couple of songs from projects which will be out on the new WORD Artisan label (created especially for Phil and his music) in October. -August 27
Add "book author" to Bonnie Keen's extensive list of credits. Her book, "Blessed Are The Desperate..." chronicles her walk during the past decade. It is very brave and honest, as she is. Count me as a member of her fan club!  -August 20
Look and listen closely... Rachael Lampa may be only 15 years old, but WHAT A VOICE! She will be with us a long time I know. At Rachael's left is Brent Bourgeois, her producer. -August 13
I think one of my favorite things about doing this show is live music. I guess that would make this Sunday one of my favorites. Buddy Greene was on to talk about an album release performance coming up and he brought former New Grass Revival member, Pat Flynn along. The project is "Re: Sinners And Saints". Buddy is always a welcome guest on the show... Pat too!  -July 30
I had been hearing lots of good things about this guy... all very true. A new friend to the show (but I have a feeling he'll be around for a long time)... it's Mark Schultz. -July 23
I joked on the air about these two guys being two "old" friends: it's John Schlitt and Louie Weaver from Petra. The latest project is "Double Take", containing remakes of some of Petra's true gold! Louie's wife, Penny called several time to help jog Louie's (and my) memory. Finally, she and their two kids just came on over to join us. John brought his 11 year old, Cray. Top right picture: the youngest Schlitt-child holds the youngest Weaver child. Bottom picture, l-r: Louie & Penny Weaver, Cray Schlitt holding baby Mickey Weaver, me, John Schlitt and Louie Weaver IV in the chair. -July 16
There is a time to laugh... Jeff Allen (left) has a LOT to do with that! The morning of the first "Jeff Allen & Friends" at Zanies Comedy Club (July 9) brought us Jeff and artist John Cox (who also performed live for us.
Roaring Lambs was the title of a book written in the early 90's by the late Bob Briner, a hero and mentor to my guest on July 2, Steve Taylor. The result from the impact of the book was a re-release of the book and a CD by the same name on Steve's label, Squint Records. At right is Squint media-man, Jay Swartzendruber.
Geoff Moore had an appearance at Sam's Place on June 18 and we were very happy that he started the day by spending a few hours with us. Not only was it Father's Day, but also Geoff and wife Jan's 18 wedding anniversary.
Nicol Smith brought her self-titled debut project to us on June 11. Nicol's project was/is one of the industry's most anticipated ever!... and it does not disappoint. Nicol was on the show last year with her brother Todd and Alan Hall... the group Selah.
Chris Harris came to see us on June 4th. He's a longtime friend who also happens to be an incredible producer (Anointed, Lisa Bevill, Newsong, Wayne Kirkpatrick, and many others).
Nichole Nordeman was about to release her 2nd project, "This Mystery".  She is such a gifted songwriter AND singer... this is an amazing woman!!! May 21
What a show this turned out to be! My first guest was long-time friend, Jenny Lockwald from Pamplin Music in Oregon. She was in town on business. Next came Kama Tate from the Crisis Pregnancy Support Center to talk about the upcoming dinner in the round. Finally came Danny O'Lannerghty and his dad, Dan Leonard with an INCREDIBLE story. May 14
May 7th we talked about the annual Hymn Sing (a benefit for Daystar Ministries) . Hosting the event was Buddy Greene. Performing were Jars of Clay among many others. Top pic: Buddy Greene, Dan Haseltine, me and Charlie Lowell of Jars. Middle pic: Buddy talks... we listen. Bottom: Buddy Greene, Dan Haseltine, Charlie Lowell, John Paul Penrod, Kendra Allen, me, Holly, and Belle Johnson from Daystar Ministries.

Easter Sunday (Apr 23) and we made a new friend. Pat Flynn was the guitar player of the group New Grass Revival. He is pictured here playing a song, very pertinent to Easter, "Roll Away The Stone".

IT'S GMA SUNDAY!!!!!! (Apr 16) This is a new group, Solomon's Wish. They came by and brought guitars and bongos making a very great first impression. Top pic is: Mike, me, Kevin and Scott. Bottom pic: Solomon's Wish plays as Jenny Lockwald from Pamplin Records looks on.

Our next guests GMA Sunday was the group CLEAR. These are kids from Minneapolis. Its Matt, Pete, Ali, Dave, and Nate. Their new CD releases in June and they came and shared some of the new music... they even played live!. Note in the middle picture... between the guitars.... sometimes percussionist use whatever they can find- even a sugar dispenser! Bottom pic: Ali sings while I mix.

Our final guests GMA Sunday was a group I had been anxious to meet.... The Kry. Rarely in Nashville, I was grateful for this chance. L-R: Pete Nelson, me, brothers Yves and Jean-Luc Lajoie, and David Asch from Freedom Records.

If you were listening that Sunday morning, you heard us talk about taking a traditional picture. This is it! My old friends, Jenny Lockwald (Pamplin Records) and Jon Hull (KSBJ Radio in Humble, TX).

Meet Don Wise (left) and Charlie Heimermann (right). To make a very long, wonderful story short... Charlie's composition, "The Mass Of The Angels" will be performed for Pope John II's 80th birthday in May. Charlie is a Nashville carpenter.- March 12

Jamie Slocum had a concert in Nashville the Friday night after this show on March 5.

I am so happy for Lisa Bevill. Her brand new, self-titled project was released a few days after our interview on Feb 27. You'll love it!

FFH finally joined us on Feb 13. The wait was well worth it! They performed live music for us as well. l-r: Michael Boggs, Brian Smith, me, Jennifer and Jeromy Deibler.

OK... I'm 6'1''. Look at these guys! Two of The Ragamuffins joined us with the new project, "Prayers of a Ragamuffin". l-r: Rick Elias, me, and Mark Robertson. Feb 6

It had been 2 and a half years since our last visit with Rebecca St. James. She one of my favorites! Jan 30

The "A" Tour was coming to town and we made some early noise! l-r: Jody McBrayer and Cherie Paliotta from Avalon, me, Ne-Cee Walls and Steve Crawford from Anointed.  Jan 23
