My producer
friend Chris Harris called me a while back and told me about Bill
Miller. I am so glad he did. Bill's first visit (of many I hope) was the
last day of 2000. Bill is a native American. He has toured with Pearl
Jam, Tori Amos and many others. Altho he has recorded for several years,
we played his first Christian music record, "Hear Our Prayer".

Christmas
eve fell on Sunday this year. I was glad to have live music all morning
with the likes of Lisa Bevill, Eli, and Mark Chessir.
In addition, my son Chris asked if his group from school could come and
sing Christmas songs. What a great idea! The Overton High School
Madrigal Singers under the direction of Dr. Phillip Griffin were
wonderful. A great celebration of this special time of year. Top
picture: Mark Chessir, Eli, me, and Lisa Bevill. 2nd pic: Eli sings!
(looks comfortable, doesn't he!?!). Singers: Brett Perkins, Lindsey
White, Kristin Taylor and Chris Faust in front with Daniel
Poston in back. Bottom pic: (past the back of my head) Chris
Faust, Nancy Craig, Rachel Cunningham, and my son, Chris

I love Michelle Pillar's
heart! She sees a need and looks for a way to do something about it. She
has put together a benefit concert for the needy in Williamson County.
The already-sold-out concert features Steve Winwood, Michael MacDonald,
Larry Carlton, and Vince Gill. Here we are with Michelle's husband, Larry
Carlton- an incredible guitar player. Next time you see "Hill
Street Blues" on TV... that's Larry playing the theme! Comedian
Jeff Allen also dropped by. -Dec

Nashville. One of which, I am happy to say, was on our show. Buddy
brought in Pat Flynn for some great conversation and incredible
music. -Dec 3 |

Reed Arvin has had an
amazing career so far! He was a studio musician when he moved to
Nashville in the mid 80's, he produced all but one of Rich Mullins'
projects. Now he adds "author" to his credits. His second
novel "The Will" has just released and very well
could be made into a movie! www.reedarvin.com

on the new WORD Artisan label (created especially for Phil and his
music) in October. -August

Add "book
author" to Bonnie Keen's extensive list of credits. Her
book, "Blessed Are The Desperate..." chronicles
her walk during the past decade. It is very brave and honest, as she is.
Count me as a member of her fan club!

Look and
listen closely... Rachael Lampa may be only 15 years old, but
WHAT A VOICE! She will be with us a long time I know. At Rachael's left
is Brent Bourgeois, her producer. -August

I
think one of my favorite things about doing this show is live music. I
guess that would make this Sunday one of my favorites. Buddy Greene
was on to talk about an album release performance coming up and he
brought former New Grass Revival member, Pat Flynn along. The
project is "Re: Sinners And Saints". Buddy is always a
welcome guest on the show... Pat too! -July 30 |

I had been
hearing lots of good things about this guy... all very true. A new
friend to the show (but I have a feeling he'll be around for a long
time)... it's Mark Schultz. -July 23 |

 |
I
joked on the air about these two guys being two "old" friends:
it's John Schlitt and Louie Weaver from Petra. The
latest project is "Double Take", containing
remakes of some of Petra's true gold! Louie's wife, Penny called several
time to help jog Louie's (and my) memory. Finally, she and their two
kids just came on over to join us. John brought his 11 year old, Cray.
Top right picture: the youngest Schlitt-child holds the youngest Weaver
child. Bottom picture, l-r: Louie & Penny Weaver, Cray Schlitt

There is a
time to laugh... Jeff Allen (left) has a LOT to do with that! The
morning of the first "Jeff Allen & Friends"
at Zanies Comedy Club (July 9) brought us Jeff and artist John Cox (who
also performed live for us. |

Roaring
Lambs was
the title of a book written in the early 90's by the late Bob Briner, a
hero and mentor to my guest on July 2, Steve Taylor. The result
from the impact of the book was a re-release of the book and a CD by the
same name on Steve's label, Squint Records. At right is Squint
media-man, Jay Swartzendruber. |

Geoff Moore had
an appearance at Sam's Place on June 18 and we were very happy that he
started the day by spending a few hours with us. Not only was it
Father's Day, but also Geoff and wife Jan's 18 wedding anniversary. |
|
Nicol Smith
brought her
self-titled debut project to us on June 11. Nicol's project was/is one
of the industry's most anticipated ever!... and it does not disappoint.
Nicol was on the show last year with her brother Todd and Alan Hall...
the group Selah. |
|
Chris
Harris came to see us on June 4th. He's a longtime friend who also
